KEVIN QUALLS
Lead Pastor

Kevin is the Lead Pastor of South Pointe Fellowship and is primarily responsible for the overall leadership and direction of the church as well as teaching on Sunday and Wednesday.

The Basics
Kevin and Kim were married in 1994 and served three churches in North and South Carolina before coming to FBCIT to start South Pointe Fellowship in 2007. Kevin and Kim have three children: Emma, Stephen and Benjamin.

Education
Kevin has a B.A. from Gardner Webb University and a Masters degree from Southeastern Theological Seminary.

Places
I love the beach, Starbucks (caramel latte frappuccino with whipped cream), Chapel Hill, traveling to the Caribbean and Maui.

What’s on the iPod?
A wide variety of musical styles from 80s & 90s style rock, Dave Ramsey podcasts and some of the latest pop music.

Books
New reads - Missional Renaissance by Reggie McNeal & One Month to Live by Kerry Shook.

What do you TiVo?
Smallville, 24, Lost, Fringe, Terminator - The Sarah Chronicles Story.

Sports Teams
North Carolina Tarheels & the New York Yankees.

Movies
The new Star Trek movie was awesome.....looking forward to the new Terminator movie and Transformer movie too.

Hobbies
Sports, baseball cards, helping coach both of my sons' little league teams and hanging with the family.

Dislikes
Disorganization, Duke University, slow drivers and television commercials.

Odd Fact
Used to preach on live television every week for 4 years.....glad there are no cameras in our worship service!!

GARY PIERCE
Minister of Worship & Students

Gary is the Minister of Worship and Students at South Pointe Fellowship.

The Basics
Gary and Nicole were married on November 19, 1988. They have two daughters, Morgan and Ashton. Gary has served in two churches and love to have fun.

September 1967

Education
Gary has graduated high school and is presently seeking a B.A. in Religion from Liberty University.

Places
Give me a golf course and a clear day, and I am good.

What's on the iPod?
Big Daddy Weave, Various Worship artists, Jeremy Camp, Voice traning tracks (yep...), AC/DC, Van Halen

Books
Bible, I only read informative books. Reading is NOT a pleasure for me.

What do you TiVo?
UNC beating Duke (both times in '08 & '09) and UNC winning the championship!! Yes!! Other sports and movies.

Sports Teams
North Carolina Tarheels, Dallas Cowboys & Cincinnati Reds.

Movies
Why go to the movies? I like anything action-packed, and we usually watch it at home.

Hobbies
Playing golf, watching ANY sport except hockey, lovin' my wife and girls and helping Ashton with softball.

Dislikes
Being late, procrastination, Duke, marks on my walls and lazy people.

Odd Fact
I was once the Executive Producer and main character in a 300 person cast, live drama (with live animals!) called "The Promise."

JONI TIMMONS
Children's Summer Intern

Joni is the Children's Summer Intern at South Pointe Fellowship.

The Basics
When not at college in Tigerville, SC, Joni lives with her parents, Ronald and Debby Timmons, in Pageland, SC. Joni has two older sisters, Emily and Megan who are both married, and she has a niece and nephew, Chloe and Christian. Joni began working as the Children's Summer Intern at South Pointe Fellowship in May of 2008.

Education
Joni is currently attending North Greenville University to pursue a B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Spanish.

Places
My favorite week of the year is going to Garden City Beach with my family. I also love spending time at a little cafe called Coffee Underground in Greenville, SC when I am at school.

What's on the iPod?
I don't own an iPod. Normally, I enjoy silence when the opportunity comes.

Books
Pride and Prejudice, For Young Women Only & Multiple Blessings

What do you TiVo?
Law & Order SVU, Gilmore Girls, Property Virgins on HGTV, What Not to Wear and Say Yes! to the Dress.

Sports Teams
Clemson Tigers and the Boston Red Sox.

Movies
Most recently I saw Slumdog Millionaire and loved it, but my favorites are Marley and Me, Sweet Home Alabama and Hitch.

Hobbies
Spending time with my friends and family, shopping and visiting new places. I have recently begun collecting ceramic suns that hang on the wall while in Honduras.

Dislikes
Not following the rules, having too much free time and Winnie the Pooh.

Odd Fact
I have a "Life To Do List" and most recently I was able to check off #47 - Pick a banana off a tree.
