10 CORE VALUES

Listed below are 10 values that help define who we are and why we do what we do. Our core values stand at the heart of everything we do and believe.
Transformation
The bottom line at South Pointe is changed lives. We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ changes lives. Our purpose is to transform people into authentic and passionate followers of Jesus Christ.
Authenticity
At South Pointe we believe in authenticity ~ real people with real lives involved in real relationships with God and one another. At South Pointe we are real about life.
Community
Because we believe that spiritual transformation happens best in an environment of relationships, we strongly emphasize community. People need each other and we believe in the authenticity, trust, and growth that occurs within the context of community. If you are searching for a place to belong, South Pointe wants to provide an environment of genuine community.
Applicable Truth
One of our primary goals at South Pointe is to make the truth of God's Word applicable to your everyday life. We emphasize culturally-current communication. We believe the truth of God can change your life, but we also believe that the truth must be presented in a manner that it is perceived as true and applicable.
Excellence
We believe that God and the people deserve our very best. We want the things we do at South Pointe to be done with excellence. For that reason, we do things simple and effective. Our goal is not to have the most programs and ministries available. Our goal is to do what we consider are the most important things in ministry and to do them with absolute excellence.
Purpose
At the heart of every person and organization lies the question of purpose and significance. "Why am I here?" "What is my purpose in life?" "What on earth am I here for?" We value purpose. We value meaning in life. Purpose stands at the heart of what we do and we want you to fulfill God's purpose for your life.
Strategic Service
At South Pointe we value the gifts that God has given each of his children. We want to create an environment that encourages and emphasizes the use of those gifts to serve the local church and the community. We believe that each follower of Jesus Christ should use his/her gifts to advance God's work locally and throughout our world.
Relational, Missional Evangelism
Because the good news of Jesus Christ changes lives and is the most incredible news available to humans, we believe in the necessity of sharing that good news with others. We value creating relationships in our community with the ultimate purpose of sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with other people.
Relevant Environments
The church and its message have been considered irrelevant to everyday life for too long. At South Pointe we believe in creating relevant environments that create life change. We want our environments to engage your heart and mind. From our small groups to our worship and children's environments, we want the timeless message of Jesus Christ to be made relevant to your life.
Growth
We value spiritual growth in each and every life. And we value the expansion of God's kingdom through the multiplication of other like-minded churches in the Carolinas, the southeast, and the world. We are committed to building a healthy church which we believe results naturally in growth.
OUR CORE BELIEFS:
- We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, supernaturally inspired, so that it is inerrant in the original manuscripts and preserved by God in its verbal, plenary inspiration, so that it is a Divinely authoritative standard for every age and every life.
- We believe that the Godhead exists eternally in three persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - that these three are one God.
- We believe in God as absolute and sole Creator of the Universe, and that creation was by Divine action, not through evolutionary process.
- We believe that God, by His sovereign choice and out of love for men, sent Christ into the world to save sinners.
- We believe that Jesus Christ in the flesh was both God and man; that He was born of a virgin and that He lived a sinless life, in which He taught and performed mighty works and wonders and signs exactly as revealed in the four Gospels; that He was crucified, died as a penalty for our sins and was bodily raised from the dead on the third day. Later, He ascended to the Father’s right hand where He is the head of the church and intercedes for believers, and from where He is coming again, personally, bodily, and visibly to this earth to set up His millennial kingdom.
- We believe that in His death, by His shed blood, the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin, redeeming us from the curse of the law by becoming a sacrifice for sin. Men are therefore saved and justified on the simple and single ground of the shed blood.
